More knee drama
Jun. 18th, 2023 09:53 pmI couldn't wait until the 26th for the knee appointment as I had an incident where it felt like my knee was buckling under me with sharp shooting pain. I went to the urgent care and nothing was broken, but the UC doctor told me to still wear a brace until I saw and orthopedic surgeon. The ortho doc explained that because of arthritis, my knee doesn't have the cushioning in the joint it used to, and a knee sprain with a certain twisting action is going to be quite painful. So I'm old basically. Thankfully, it's much better. He gave me a prescription for PT, which I hope to start this week if I can get into the closest facility to me.
He also reassured me about a BB I have in my back in case I ever need an MRI. Almost two decades ago, a paramedic told me I couldn't have an MRI because it's magnetic imaging. The ortho doc said that it mainly causes problems with visualizing the part of the body the BB is in. It won't cause me to be "glued to the ceiling," lol. I hope he's right. That's something I'm going to triple check.;)
It could've been worse, so there's that.
