A quickie post for Fannish Fifty 19: We don't have cable, so I was perusing Tubi for something free to watch and came across the 2006 film version of science fiction author Philip K. Dick's A Scanner Darkly and gave it a whirl. The cast includes Keanu Reeves, Robert Downey, Jr., Woody Harrelson, Rory Cochrane, and Winona Ryder. Quite the line-up. It was animated using rotoscope, which reminded me of the Heavy Metal film from the '80s. It makes it look like a live graphic novel. Drugs, undercover cops, conspiracies, and Big Brother watching you are some of the themes here. I enjoyed it.
