It's been a beautiful November so far. It's still sweatshirt weather.

Bridget the German Shepherd dog's cyst surgery went well. We're so tired of getting her cut into though, so we're trying an over-the-counter wart/growth remover for animals that our vet approved in hopes of keeping her from going under the knife for a while. I bought her a dog stroller for me to be able to roll her up to vet appointments for laser therapy on her arthritic joints as long as it's not too icy outiside.

Samhain was quiet with low-key prayers and offerings of food and drink some ancestors liked when they were alive.

Crafting wise, I'm adding some leftover yarn to a crocheted afghan. After that, I plan on finishing a quilt I started last year.

I've dusted off my Bluesky account. I'm trishd over there. I'll probably post mostly about crafts, gardening, food, and maybe some gaming once I get back into it.

Bridget the dog has to get her cyst surgically removed. We tried our best to keep it clean and she went through two rounds of antibiotics. Her surgery is scheduled for early December.

It's nice to be done with yard work for the season. I have more time to be crafty. I've made three loom knit hats and I'm currently working on an infinity scarf (crochet).

I admit I'm purposely staying numb about the incoming POTUS. I guess that's me "enjoying my privilege," but I honestly, don't think my mental health can handle doomscrolling like I did from 2016 to 2021 to see what hellish thing he's doing each day.

Craft therapy update: As per my usual MO, I'm working on several projects at once. I'm getting so close to finishing the Sherlock Holmes blanket, but I took a break to start a basic black infinity scarf from my favorite pattern. I wore the previous one I made to death, and I don't like to be without my basic black accessories ;).

I tried gel plate printing for the first time a week or so ago. I have a lot to learn, but it was fun to experiment with, and I think the results will make good collage papers or backgrounds for mixed media.

I made some rustic-looking rune and other Pagan and Heathen symbol ornaments for my shop using colored pencil on wood slices. Below is the one for the Fehu (money, increase) rune.

I have some flat reed left over that I bought for a Brigid's Cross that I made years ago. My goal is to make some small ornaments with that, but I don't know if I'll get to that until January.

I made a small, lined, crocheted bag for a relative and added a carabiner in case she wanted to clip it on a belt or something else.

Supposedly, we're going to get a light snowfall today. Bridget will be ecstatic.

I'm slowly getting the fall yard clean-up done. Today, I cleaned the basil, chamomile, and nasturtium out of the second raised bed and placed it all in a yard bag to be picked up next week and mulched both beds.

I had time to make 10 test candles with two different waxes today for my Etsy shop. I've been putting it on the back burner for a few months, but want to get a few more candles that test well. I tihnk my next Fannish Fifty post will be some vids from my favorite indie candle makers.

I did about three hours of yard work including mowing, weed whacking, and edging around the sidewalk without too much knee pain while I was doing it, but I'm definitely looking forward to lying flat right now due to soreness. I'm glad that's done though. It'll be a busy weekend of work and I didn't want to leave it to do then.

The toddlers next door and their dog were being very friendly and talkative today. The toddlers explained how the dog jumped in their dad's truck and then did something called splish or sploosh. I'm not sure which. I think that means he fell;) Doggo looked okay though when he peeked at me through the fence.

My current inspirations are a video recipe for air-fryer crab rangoons and a journal bookbinding project I started working on recently.
