It's been a beautiful November so far. It's still sweatshirt weather.

Bridget the German Shepherd dog's cyst surgery went well. We're so tired of getting her cut into though, so we're trying an over-the-counter wart/growth remover for animals that our vet approved in hopes of keeping her from going under the knife for a while. I bought her a dog stroller for me to be able to roll her up to vet appointments for laser therapy on her arthritic joints as long as it's not too icy outiside.

Samhain was quiet with low-key prayers and offerings of food and drink some ancestors liked when they were alive.

Crafting wise, I'm adding some leftover yarn to a crocheted afghan. After that, I plan on finishing a quilt I started last year.

Bridget may have to have more cysts surgically removed. I'll find out more next week.

I've got 4 scarves, and 3 newborn hats done for a couple charities. It's nice to destash for causes. This yarn wasn't getting used. The scarves need to be no bigger than 4-5 inches wide and 51 inches long to be able to be packed into a care package, so they work up quickly. Those are crocheted. I should have enough yarn to make a hat to go with each. The baby hats are loom knitted. I found an excellent tutorial here.

Work is busy after a long slow patch, so that's good. The dog is now on incontinence medication. Let's hope that helps. She'll start another pain med tomorrow. I also do Reiki and massage on her. I joked that she's like a little old lady with her daily pill box. "And these are for Monday, Tuesday..."

I found a few more charities to send crocheted items to. One is called Operation Gratitude for active service members, veterans, and their families. In between working on J's blanket, I'm making easy scarves to send.

I'm doing qigong from videos, which is helping me feel energized in the morning and more relaxed in the evening, I believe.

I decided to destash/donate five baby blankets I thought I might "sell one day" to Warm Up America.  They distribute to organizations throughout the country. They also have different campaigns going at any given time with different needs, so I can always find something to make for them.

Our neighbors had a Generac generator installed. The squirrel-induced power outages have stopped since the electric company finally decided to put some kind of cover over the line, but memories of work stoppage from the spring and summer linger. Probably the 0 and less degree temps are making me dream of a whole-home generator of our own too, though the cost is prohivitive for us right now.

I'm not letting Bridget run around too much in these low temps as she starts walking like her paws are on fire, and the boots I bought her don't stay on very well.

Craft therapy update: As per my usual MO, I'm working on several projects at once. I'm getting so close to finishing the Sherlock Holmes blanket, but I took a break to start a basic black infinity scarf from my favorite pattern. I wore the previous one I made to death, and I don't like to be without my basic black accessories ;).

I tried gel plate printing for the first time a week or so ago. I have a lot to learn, but it was fun to experiment with, and I think the results will make good collage papers or backgrounds for mixed media.

I made some rustic-looking rune and other Pagan and Heathen symbol ornaments for my shop using colored pencil on wood slices. Below is the one for the Fehu (money, increase) rune.

I have some flat reed left over that I bought for a Brigid's Cross that I made years ago. My goal is to make some small ornaments with that, but I don't know if I'll get to that until January.

I made a small, lined, crocheted bag for a relative and added a carabiner in case she wanted to clip it on a belt or something else.

Supposedly, we're going to get a light snowfall today. Bridget will be ecstatic.

Twitter is now X and I have a green checkmark next to my name and don't know why. I've tried Google and help articles on Twitter but then realized I was falling for what Musk was trying to do, so screw it.

The basil has gotten quite large, so I made some pesto to freeze last night. I also have to come up with something creative for beet greens. I've fermented some this year. Last year I made pesto with some and will do that again. I'll eat some fresh and/or fried with eggs, but will blanche and freeze some as well.

I've been working on my version of the Sherlock Holmes "ugly blanket" inspired by the Granada TV series starring Jeremy Brett in the '80s and '90s. Below is a pic of the early stage it's in. It's basically one big granny square. This is for my husband to wrap himself in like Brett does when he's in a mood.

I'm very happy to start a new job in a couple of weeks. Bridget's yearly checkup went well, and she got her three-year rabies shot. Her dad took her for a burger after, lol. I started a new summery crochet afghan. My goal is to complete three this year with one of them being a gift for mom. I started two 12-pk trays of seed starters. They contain a mix of vegetables, flowers, and herbs.
