I'm going to keep plugging away at the Fannish Fifty posts since work is slow, and I'm way behind on these for my original goal of once a week.
I have a confession to make. I had no clue what the lyrics were to Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit until Tori Amos sang them at St. Andrew's Hall in Detroit in the '90s. It was just her and a piano. The capacity is only 1000 people. We were all rapt in attention. You could literally hear people breathing. I've been to a minimal amount of concerts, and that one was a marvelous experience.
My next confession is I liked her version better.
During the COVID-19 lockdown, Tori released one mini-album, Christmastide, and one full album, Ocean to Ocean. I missed these when they first came out, and I'm enjoying their discovery now. Tori is inspiring in her own unique way, and that's what I find this tune to be (vid below): Addition of Light Divided from Ocean to Ocean. More info on her site.
